So the other night, I get an email from the beautiful Ashley Pridgen. She reached out, to politely correct me on a recent post about her.

The post in question is claiming that Ash used to be an alcoholic. This was derived from her “completing her AA”. My genius brain put two and two together. AA means alchoholics anonymous (duh), and the phoenix means second chances (double duh). I’m totally on a roll here…

Well, Ashley was kind enough to reach out to me and clarify a few things.

• I just wanted to let you know that I am not, and have never been, an alcoholic.
• I had my first drink at 22 and I think I have been drunk less than 10 times in my entire life.
• My phoenix tattoo was done when I was 20, and symbolizes me being the first in my family to earn a college degree: my AA or Associates in Arts.
• I think this is where the misconception was drawn. I’m guessing that the information you received (or found yourself) came from my description of this tattoo.
• Also, you’re stupid. (Actually, I added that part.)

Shes been drunk less than ten times in her entire life. I think I violated that number in this past Labor Day Weekend alone.

Ashley, thank you kindly for politely reaching out and correcting me. Also, Ashley had one more message for you guys: She said “hello”.

Me: On another note, many people come to this site to read about you.  Apparently, you are very interesting. Should I tell them you said hello?
Ashley: Hahaha! Really? That’s so sweet! Absolutely. It still amazes me that people find me at all intriguing. Send my warmest regards.
